Course Description:
This 2-month online distance-learning course is designed for those interested in learning about expert witness work and pursuing it. The course delves into the path and preparation required in detail.
Taught by John Correia, Stephannie Weidner, and Kaery Dudenhofer, and based on their experiences in this field, you will learn how to expedite the process of getting started, maximize your effectiveness, and avoid common mistakes.
Who the Course is For:
This course is aimed at professionals in the defensive space, both those interested in pursuing work, and those wanting to learn more about the opportunities and processes involved. Completion of this course does not constitute an endorsement or certification but will guide you through the necessary processes, preparations, and steps for success.

- The Role and Scope of an Expert Witness
- Being Contacted and Retained
- Interfacing with Attorneys and Others
- Elements of Forming an Expert Opinion
- Methods and Modalities of Expressing Your Opinion
Course Work:
Participants will review discovery and write opinions based on actual cases, as if working on them independently. You will also review actual reports submitted in these cases.
You can expect approximately 10 hours of pre-course work, and about two to three hours per week during the course.
Course Dates:
The online classes will be held on June 5, 12, 19, 26, and July 31 from 5pm – 7pm PST. To allow time for completing coursework, formal classes will not be held from June 27 to July 30.
