Elevate your defensive skills in Level 2 – Advanced Evidence Based Handgun Skills, now integrating the cutting-edge Trigger Interactive steel target shooting system. Over the course of two intensive days, we’ll enhance your proficiency by building upon foundational principles, focusing on dynamic movement with a firearm. Drawing insights from the analysis of over 50,000 real defensive encounters, we utilize the Pareto Principle to emphasize the 20% of skills that yield 80% of positive outcomes in a defensive gunfight.
Topics Covered:
1. Enhanced Drawing Techniques: Create a ‘Visually Quiet Draw’
– Safely and effectively drawing a firearm from concealment with speed and precision.
– Significantly improving draw mechanics to expedite the draw-to-first-shot process.
2. Target Engagement:
– Utilizing Trigger Interactive steel target system for visual start signals.
– Enhancing skills for precise target transitions and movement scenarios.
– Putting the first shot on target with speed and precision tailored to the specific threat.
– Refining sight alignment for various target sizes, emphasizing application to defensive scenarios.
3. Follow-Up Shots:
– Delivering rapid and accurate follow-up shots appropriate to the target at hand.
– Teaching and reinforcing proper grip, sight movement, and trigger control.
4. Movement with a Firearm:
– Incorporating dynamic movement techniques with a firearm in defensive scenarios.
– Navigating through simulated environments to enhance situational awareness and shooting proficiency.
5. Holstering Techniques:

6. Three Imperative Skills: Grip, Sight, Trigger:
– Emphasizing and teaching grip, sight, and trigger control in-depth, utilizing anatomical, physiological, and biomechanical principles.
Requirements:
– Students are required to bring a quality pistol and concealment holster with a belt (or Enigma).
– Serpa holsters or similar trigger finger release holsters are NOT ALLOWED.
– Revolvers are permitted.
– Recommended to clean and lubricate firearms before class.
Ammunition:
– Students will fire approximately 350 rounds over the two days.
– Students may bring up to 500 rounds if desired.
Equipment and Attire:
– Bring high-quality eye and hearing protection, a brimmed hat, and closed-toed shoes.
– A high neckline shirt is highly recommended.
– Water, snacks, and a packed lunch are advised due to limited nearby dining options.
Please Note:
Upon arrival, check-in with staff. Load magazines at your discretion, but refrain from unholstering or uncasing guns unless instructed by staff. No guns should be touched behind the firing line.
